Being a leader, you should always keep in mind that people don't tend to be productive when they're merely pushed to complete a thing and would probably tend to perform significantly better when they will be inspired to do a thing due to a great cause or inspired and well guided by a person they genuinely value. For that reason, in order to be an effective leader, you have to learn how to help make your people understand the reasons why they should do their utmost in what they do. Don't push them too hard as this would only cause them to feel you're just after your personal gains. Discover ways to inspire them to perform by seeing the benefits they will be receiving from it and just how important they are for the entire team to succeed.
You should make your member understand that each and every one of them carries a very important role in the results of the group. And only through performing their very best and working together would they be able to attain the team's mission. Also it's vital to know all your members' strengths and weaknesses, as this will significantly help you in effectively assigning particular responsibilities for them and employing their highest potential. Pushing them too much can simply make them do the contrary; this would just crank out detest and irritability from your group, so keep youself from doing this.


Try your very best in encouraging your team make them feel great to be able to enhance their self confidence. Let them see the good side of doing their utmost in their job and the benefits they'll be obtaining. If ever someone commits a mistake, avoid talking about it before his/her fellow teammates as this would tremendously embarrass him/her and lower his/her self-confidence. This will make your member feel that you understand the individual, enabling him/her believe that you are concerned for him/her too. Thus, making that person certainly not loathe you but rather really feel indebted as you are genuinely understanding. This will make the individual strive to fulfill your objectives in the future. And also to promote cooperation within the team, you may schedule team building events outside the workplace, like coming to the beach or an outing together. This would enable you and your group to know one another much better, making it easier to develop cooperation and team work.


To generalize, as a leader you have to be both people oriented and purpose oriented. Keep in mind that properly handling and taking care of your people is directly proportional in achieving your goals. So focus on how to manage your people appropriately and I believe you'd really be able to accomplish your goals in the future.
